On Saturday, August 31, the penultimate day of the Brussels Stephex Masters, the best CSI1* riders competed for victory in the Grand Prix. The podium was entirely Belgian. Out of the 60 combinations that started, 22 made it to the jump-off. Nikita van der Meerschen claimed the victory with her mare Honesty Chavannaise (President x Fetiche du Pas | SBS) in a swift time of 38.39 seconds. The second place went to Rik Nauta, who crossed the finish line in 38.78 seconds with his Kia Maria Vd Potaarde (Numero Uno x Chatman | BWP). Jorik Vervoort completed the Belgian podium with his 7-year-old mare Rothinka Van ’T Lusthof (Corico Z x Thunder Vd Zuuthoeve | BWP) in a time of 39.09 seconds.
Following the Grand Prix, the best rider of the CSI1* circuit was also announced: none other than Julie de Pelsmaeker. Throughout this edition of the Brussels Stephex Masters, she placed several times and secured two CSI1* victories. With a total score of 528 points, she comfortably kept her closest competitor, Rik Nauta (382 points), at a distance.
