KNOKKE- HEIST: Severe weather conditions caused a slightly later start to week two here at the Knokke Hippique Summer Circuit. However, this did not stop the action from beginning right away from the first class of the day.
The CSI1* – 1m15 Two Phases Special presented by MaxEQP was dominated by Belgian riders, with Malin Bollen (BEL) taking that prized golden rosette and 5 out of the 6 placed riders all coming from the home nation. Only the Irish rider, Alice Wachman, could win her way into second place.
Today was also the start of the 6yo and 7yo tours. Pieter Jan de Visser (NED) took the trophy in the CSIYH 6Y presented by Catherine de Buyl Horse Insurance, followed by Toon Maes (BEL) in second and Kendra Claricia Brinkop (GER) in third.
Ludo Philippaerts (BEL) led the field in the CSIYH 7Y presented by Zangersheide. He just slipped ahead of his son Nicola Philippaerts (BEL) by a matter of milliseconds. Third place was awarded to Axel van Colen (FRA).
The top three of the CSI1* 1m25 Two Phases GP Qualifier, presented by EQ Promotions, consisted of two Belgians – yet again! However the Frenchman Alexis Borrin took the win and was closely followed by Nadège Janssen (BEL) and in third Caro-Belle de Hornois (BEL).
Tomorrow is the start o the 5yo classes, as well as the 2* and 3* tours, which promise a lot of more excitement and great sport!
