Stephex Exclusive Foal Collection merges the best of both worlds
One of the highlights of the Brussels Stephex Masters will take place on Friday the 27th of August. Starting 21:00 o’clock a magnificent selection of the Stephex breeding program will be up for auction at the five-star show held at the Stephex Stables in Wolvertem.
The foal auction will be streamed live and bidding on the lots of this exclusive collection is possible to those who are present at the event as well as online. There will be nine fillies and two colts going under the hammer, as well as a rare embryo by Catoki x Kannan (x Usha).
Exclusive Stephex dam lines
The foal collection features exclusive Stephex dam lines, and three foals are sired by Stephex stallions as well. Two by Daniel Deusser’s top stallion Scuderia 1918 Tobago Z and one colt by Oak Grove’s Heartthrob.
Narcotique de Muze II is well represented
Castel Pommex Z (cat. no. 9) is a striking example of collection. The filly out of Conthargos has the very promising Takotak Z as it’s dam. Only last week Takotak Z won the silver in the Belgian National Championship for seven-year-olds. She combines the blood of the legendary Narcotique de Muze II (by Darco out of Qerly Chin) who jumped to great heights with Eric Lamaze and is the mother of a multitude of international top horses.
Former and current sport stars
Narcotique de Muze II is also the grand dam of Vernazza (cat. no. 11) who has the best possible genetics with Verdi TN as the sire and Kracotte Z (by Kannan) as the dam. Not only the foal collection is to be seen in Brussels. For example, the dam of Trinidad Pommex Z (cat. no. 6), Maya – S, is jumping clear rounds only in the three-star classes of the Brussel Stephex Masters. Maya – S is sired by Chacco-Blue out of a Heartbreaker dam.
High achievers
All the foals up for auction on Friday are bred in collaboration with Haras de la Pomme. A perfect combination according to Geert Baertsoen of Haras de la Pomme: “Stephan is focused on creating better sport horses by breeding with high achievers and I am hoping to increase the quality of our breeding program by using high achievers. We combine the best of both worlds”.
