After winning the feature class on Friday Marcus Ehning did it again! With another brilliant performance the German rider won the the CSI3* Grand Prix presented by Ghelamco. Taking on twelve other jump-off competitors and their horses in the 1.50m finale on Sunday morning.
With another fantastic mount, Stargold (by Stakkato Gold), the German mastermind sped through the jump-off with his eye on the prize. Crossing the finish in 37,93 seconds Ehning added another win to his impressive list of achievements at Knokke Hippique and went home with a luxury STX tack box to boot.
Marlon Modolo Zanotelli was hot on Ehning’s heels with Diarca PS (by Diarado). The Brazilian rider missed out on the win by just 0,19 seconds but was in great spirits none-the-less. “I am very grateful to the owner of this horse that I can ride it. Unfortunately today we were just not fast enough but a second place at a fantastic show like this is also a super achievement. And I am happy for Marcus at least I was beaten by the best.”
The third place in the Grand Prix went to a home rider. Jos Verlooy and Fabregas (by Zambesi) finished with one more second on the clock. Easily keeping compatriot Karel Cox and Kill Bill Max at bay who finished fourth.
